Best Places to See Holiday Lights in Boise
One of our favorite traditions every December is to view holiday light displays throughout the Treasure Valley. There is something magical about seeing these beautiful, colorful, and creative presentations. Below are some must-see locations to visit this Christmas season.
Christmas In Color - Expo Idaho in Boise, Idaho
One of the newest light attractions to the Treasure Valley is the Christmas In Color drive-through experience. The animated displays are impressive and are accompanied by holiday music that you play through your radio. This event does require you to buy tickets in advance but it is well worth it and a portion of the proceeds benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Lost in Christmas - Shindig Farm in Nampa, Idaho
Combine everything you love about the autumn pumpkin patches and corn mazes with Christmas, and you get Shindig Farms. This lighted labyrinth is so fun to explore. After you have solved the maze, enjoy a host of other activities such as a horse-drawn carriage ride, zip lining through the lights, riding the mechanical bull, or shopping for a live Christmas tree.
Scentsy Commons - Meridian, Idaho
This Idaho-based company decorates its entire courtyard every winter for the public to enjoy for FREE! In addition to lighting up more than 450 trees, Scentsy also features a 250 ft long lighted tunnel.
The Village at Meridian - Meridian, Idaho
The shopping experience at the Village at Meridian always feels a little more special when the streets and shops are adorned with glowing lights and holiday decor. Make sure to stop by the fountain in the center of the outdoor mall every hour on the hour to witness a beautiful water show synchronized to a classic Christmas tune.
Winter Garden aGlow - Boise, Idaho
Idaho Botanical Garden's annual holiday fundraiser. All month you can enjoy the beautiful lights decoratively hung throughout the gardens, along with FREE hot cocoa, cookies, live music, and other holiday activities!
Winter Wonderland - Downtown Caldwell at Indian Creek Plaza
This outdoor extravaganza is FREE to the public. Every year the City of Caldwell bedazzles its city center with over a million lights creating an amazing atmosphere that you can walk through at your own pace. Make sure to look in the creek for the fire-breathing dragon and Santa Claus in his fishing boat. If you visit on a weekend night there are also opportunities to enjoy live music, food trucks, and visits with special Disney characters.
